Drive north on the 101 freeway, a couple miles up from the Golden Gate Bridge, and If you look to the left, you may still see the remnants of what was once a vast forest of colorful trees. If you park at the market nearby, and cross the stream at the end of the road, you can walk up and visit these trees. Though their bark is peeling and decayed, the spirits that live inside each trunk are active. Maybe if you go out and sit with the trees long enough, and watch the cars race by, they will become curious and reveal themselves to you
